After James made a shot over Brooks, the two had a heated exchange on the court before a timeout was called. During the stretch, LeBron continued to trash talk with Brooks.
"I don't care, he's old," Brooks said of 38-year-old James post-game. "I poke bears. I don't respect anyone until they come and give me 40 [points].
"I let him know that you can't take me one-on-one. You haven't," Brooks added. "You can go look at the film. He doesn't really take me one on one until that moment."
Despite being without their star player, Ja Morant, the Grizzlies won Game 2 with a score of 103-93, tying the best-of-seven series at 1-1.
James scored a total of 28 points in the game, while Brooks, who was dealing with foul trouble for much of the game, finished with 12 points.
"When I'm on that floor, you're just another player to me," Brooks said. "I don't care who you are. You're just 6-8, 270 pounds and you're a basketball player."
Game 3 between the Lakers and Grizzlies is scheduled for Saturday in the Crypto.com Arena.
