"We broke all the records at the beginning of the season. Having 400,000 fans in the regular part of the season... We had 302,302 fans [in the EuroLeague] and 98,000 in the ABA league. We still haven't released tickets for the Top 8. The revenue is expected to be around 5 million euros this season. That's a record revenue," he said.
"I'll make a parallel. In 2017, ticket revenue was 36,000 euros for the entire season. Now it's almost 5 million, and I think it's 150 times what it was [back then]," he continued. "This season, 99.99 percent of people paid for the ticket. Children with disabilities and children without parents do not pay for a ticket, these are actions that we implement, but in general, everybody pays."
This week, the club has also started a tax dept repayment program in which all Partizan fans can participate. The most generous donors will be rewarded with a unique prize in the upcoming season.
"Yesterday was the first day of the action. Yesterday, we collected around 500,000 euros on the first day. The action was initiated by slightly more than 2,000 fans," Mijailovic commented. "Each of us on the Board of Directors will make a non-refundable payment of 100,000 euros. We will regularly inform the public about this. I have to thank the state for being patient."
"If we ask for something from the state, we have to give it back," the operative continued. "Our goal is to pay back all debts by the beginning of next season and to be a stable club that will be able to rely on its budget. We were disrupted by the COVID-19 year. That year took away 4.5 million euros from us."
