Milan's GM Christos Stavropoulos revealed that Ettore Messina will remain at the club regardless of poor performance in the EuroLeague and blamed the failure on injuries.

In an interview with ERT television before the Greek League game between Olympiacos Piraeus and Aris, Milan's general manager Christos Stavropoulos revealed that the organization fully supports Ettore Messina.

A very difficult year with many misfortunes. We lost important players from the beginning of the season and it was a key part of our failure in the EuroLeague," the operative started off. "We practiced with all our players for the first time [just] three weeks ago."

"We are now looking at the Italian league, we are not done yet," he continued. "Ettore Messina will be at Armani next season as well, he has a contract."

Talking about Dinos Mitoglou who recently got suspended by FIBA for drug use, Stavropoulos revealed that the club will not pursue the player once the suspension ends.

"Either way, his contract was ending in the summer. We had halted the situation until the decision," he said.

After the end of the EuroLeague season, the club parted ways with Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, as his contract was signed to help the team only during the period of the EuroLeague regular season.
