After first losing Paul George to an injury, the Los Angeles Clippers will have to do without their biggest star in the next playoff game.
Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out for Game 3 of the 1st Round playoff series against the Phoenix Suns.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, the forward aggravated his knee in Game 1 and played through pain in Game 2. The player is now expected to be day-by-day, the renowned journalist notes.
The new injury is said to not be related to the previous ACL injury Leonard suffered. Kawhi underwent surgery to repair a partial tear in the ACL in his right knee in July 2021 and missed the entire 2021-22 season.
The Clippers forward played 52 games in the regular season, averaging 23.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. During the first two games of the 1st Round series, Leonard registered 34.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals on average.
Paul George is set to miss the entire series due to a knee injury he suffered during the March 21st game vs the Thunder.
