Nevezis downed Juventus 143-134 after double overtime in a game that will go down in Lithuanian basketball history.

In a game that was decided in double overtime, Nevezis and Juventus scored as many as 277 points and reached the LKL all-time performance record.

The Betsafe-LKL league, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this Saturday, saved its most productive game of all time for the right time. I

Gediminas Petrauskas' team prevailed by 143-134 (29-21, 27-30, 21-23, 26-29, 18-18, 22-13) over their opponents, and further strengthened their position in the fight for the playoffs.

"A crazy match and tension that might not have happened," Petrauskas said after the match.

"We are very, very happy to be in this league and we will record such a record in the history books," continued the head of Nevezis. "I wonder how many years it will take to improve it. I hope at least 30 years," he added.

Before that, the record was held by Aukstaitija Panevezys and Sakalai Vilnius in 2003. In two overtime thrillers, the Panevezians celebrated the victory by 130-124.

With less than a minute left in the fourth quarter, round numbers burned on the scoreboard (100-100). Then, Jonathan Davis and Bradley Davison exchanged baskets, while Zigimantas Skucas hit 1/2 free throws to tie the contest at 103.

The points race ran at full pace in the extra five minutes. With 24 seconds remaining, the hosts took a minimal lead, 119-118. Arthur Zagar and Gintautas Matulis scored their teams' last buckets to produce another tie at 121 points.

After playing a few minutes in the second overtime, the hosts broke away by 6 points – 132:126. During the rest of the time, they maintained their lead.

As many as thirteen basketball players who appeared on the floor scored in double – digits, and six of them scored at least 20 points each. A total of five players were fouled out.

Nevezis have tied Neptunas Klaipeda at 13 wins (13-15) and are already two wins ahead of Siauliai (11-17).

The fifth-ranked Juventus Utena is tied with Jonava CBet (15-13).
