According to Shams Charania from The Athletic, Oladipo suffered a season-ending left knee injury, tearing his patellar tendon.
The injury occurred with just under 4 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Heat comfortably leading 112-88. Oladipo was driving to the basket when he slipped and awkwardly fell to the floor.
After the fall, he immediately grabbed his left knee and remained sitting on the ground, grimacing in pain. Oladipo left the court helped by his teammates and coaching staff.
The injury will require surgery. It will be the third major surgery for Oladipo in four years.
Back in 2019, the guard ruptured a quad tendon in his right knee. In 2021, he underwent surgery on his quad tendon again with the doctor being surprised Oladipo managed to play with the state of his tendon at all.
Oladipo played 42 games for the Heat in the regular season, averaging 10.7 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Out of three of his team's playoff games this year so far, the guard played in two of them and averaged 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest.
