"We have the home-court advantage, but their advantage at home is huge," Monaco head coach Sasa Obradovic commented on Maccabi Tel Aviv's fans.

AS Monaco, winners of the Coupe de France at Bercy against ASVEL (90-70) will meet their fans for EuroLeague playoffs Game 1 against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.

For the hosts, who want to get off the right foot, it will be their second straight playoff presence. For Maccabi, six times EuroLeague champs and nine times finalists, it's also the second straight playoff participation after a 7-year absence.

The Roca Team lost 70-78 in Tel Aviv before blowing out the Israelis (86-67) in the Principality.

On the Maccabi side, all the stars are there. Alex Poythress could make his return after five months of absence (hand injury). Only Jalen Adams and Austin Hollins are absent. On the side of the Roca Team, the return of Jordan Loyd is confirmed, Chima Moneke also returns to the rotation.

In addition, the two flights chartered especially for Maccabi fans for the first two rounds in the Principality sold out within a few hours. 350 Maccabi fans will make the trip to Monaco, where the local side has recorded 13 wins and only 4 losses this season. According to Monaco, 12 Israeli journalists will be present to cover Games 1 and 2.

Due to the fact that the Gaston Medecin contains 5,049 seats and because there is no obligation for teams to sell tickets to the opponent's fans, Maccabi received those tickets from Monaco and they were sold through the team packages to the fans. According to estimates from Israel Hayom, about 600 Maccabi Tel Aviv fans are expected to support their team in Monaco.

"It's a bit short in terms of preparation after the Cup," coach Sasa Obradovic commented.

"But we work all season with the aim of competing in this kind of series. We will have to make the right choices, we have to expect a very physical series. Maccabi played great basketball. They have an excellent roster and a top coaching staff."

The Serbian coach thinks his team has some points in common with Maccabi, especially in terms of individual qualities.

"We have the home-court advantage, but their advantage at home is huge, we know that. Our fans are going to have a big role to play, we know it will be madness in Tel Avivi," he acknowledged.

In fact, Game 3 tickets sold out in four minutes, Maccabi announced. That's probably a world record, as it's very tough for an event to have 11,000 seats taken in such a short span.

Obradovic, who guided Monaco to a series against Olympiacos Piraeus that turned into an instant classic, praised Lorenzo Brown and WadeBaldwin for being able "to score and create, bring attention to themselves, and make room for others."

"Maccabi are very successful in the offensive rebound, this will be a key sector as well. The mental plan will also be decisive, how you will react to pressure, to decisions, playing hard," the 2023 French Cup winner said.
