Tyler Dorsey evaluates Vezenkov's chances in the NBA, Walkup in Greece / News - Basketnews.com
Dorsey thinks that even though Vezenkov is the clear-cut EuroLeague MVP, that will not guarantee him a spot in the rotation in the NBA. The Fenerbahce guard thinks Thomas Walkup will add extra quality to the Greek NT.

Now, as a member of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, he evaluated his former teammate Sasha Vezenkov's chances on the other side of the Atlantic.

"That's a no-brainer. He's been growing and getting better each year. He's been playing amazing this year, that's why they're such a good team. They have a lot of good players," the guard said. "That's not a surprise for me. He's one of the guys that when you come in late at night, he's at the gym, just like me. It's really not surprising to me that he's doing that well this year."
Vezenkov is the overwhelming favorite to win the EuroLeague MVP trophy. The accolade, however, will not guarantee him success in the NBA, Dorsey said.
"There are a lot of good EuroLeague players who can catch on in the NBA as long as teams trust them and give them a role in the rotation and not just to have them complete the roster. The same goes for guys who star in the G-League. What I am describing to you, however, has a 1% chance of becoming reality," Dorsey admitted.
"If Vezenkov gets the chance and they give him the opportunity to have a little bit of the role he has at Olympiacos, then I think he'll fit in in the NBA. He opens up the court, he doesn't hold the ball too much, he can play alongside superstars and be effective," the guard said. "It's clearly a matter of chance, it's just that, usually, few are lucky."
At the end of the interview, Dorsey was asked to evaluate the recent naturalization of Thomas Walkup.
"I read it on the internet and the truth is that I had no idea, I was surprised. But I'm glad he'll be on the team! Obviously, there are things that need to be clarified but his addition to the squad brings extra quality to the national team that we need," Dorsey said. "Many countries add players with foreign passports, which raises the level of our opponents. A player like Walkup will strengthen us a lot."
