As announced by the French Basketball Federation (FFBB), the Appeals Chamber decided to reduce the penalty to one game. However, the €100,000 fine was kept.

ASVEL now have a possibility to challenge the decision with the Administrative Court. Prior to this referral, an appeal must be made within 15 days with the French National Olympic and Sports Committee.

In the original decision, it was determined that De Colo and Lauvergne received part of their salary through image rights as ambassadors of the Smart Good Things company, the main sponsor of the club. Such a practice is forbidden in France.

With one additional victory, ASVEL would rise from the current 6th place to a shared-3rd with Cholet Basket. There are 4 matches left for ASVEL in the competition.

After a rough season, ASVEL finished the year in the EuroLeague as the last team in the standings with just 8 wins and 26 losses.
