Zadar player beats out EuroLeague stars to win ABA League MVP / News - Basketnews.com

The 2022-23 ABA League regular-season MVP has been awarded to Luka Bozic, the small forward of Zadar. The second and third places were taken by Facundo Campazzo with 12.3% and Mathias Lessort with 7.1% of the votes.

Zadar small forward Luka Bozic has been named the 2022-23 ABA League regular-season MVP after the voting conducted by ABA head coaches (85% of the total voting results), journalists (10%), and league fans (5%).

Bozic has gathered a total of 79% combined votes and surpassed the stars from the two Serbian EuroLeague teams. He finished ahead of Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade guard Facundo Campazzo, who had 12.3%, and Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade center Mathias Lessort, who received 7.1% of all votes.

This season, the 26-year-old Bozic has averaged 22.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and an impressive 32.6 PIR over 25 games.

His team finished the regular season 7th with an 11-15 record. Zadar will play against second-seeded Crvena Zvezda in the best-of-three series. Their first playoff game is scheduled for Friday in Belgrade.

Bozic's upcoming rival in the playoffs -- Facu Campazzo -- has posted 14.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 2.4 steals, and 21.7 PIR in 15 games.

Lessort, instead, has navigated Partizan to first place with averages of 10.1 points, 5.9 boards, and 15.7 PIR throughout 22 matches.
