Yabusele made an Instagram post where he apologized for his behavior.
"I deeply regret my behavior at last night’s game. Basketball is about sportsmanship and friendship. My sincere apologies to Partizan, a club with which we have always had a great relationship, to Dante Exum and his family, to my teammates, my club, and all the fans," Yabusele stated.
Losing the game by 15 points and under 2 minutes to go in the game, Real players started to show visible frustration on the court, making several hard fouls in the process. Then, absolute chaos ensued.
Sergio Llull violently fouled Kevin Punter. Wanting to defend himself, Punter squared off against Llull, showing a fist near the Spanish guard's face. The conflict caused a huge fight.
In the process, Guerschon Yabusele bodyslammed Dante Exum, Mathias Lessort shoved Dzanan Musa to the ground. Almost every single player from both teams was involved in the fight. In the end, 21 players received disqualifying fouls.
Punter later pushed backagainst the notion that he started the conflict.
Some hours after the incident, Lull took responsibility via his social media account, trying to defuse the atmosphere.
"What happened last night should never happen on a basketball court. I take responsibility for making that harsh foul that triggered the subsequent disaster. My apologies to all basketball fans".
The EuroLeaguelater released a statement, saying that the Disciplinary Judge will publish the decision regarding any possible suspensions within the next 24 hours.
