"It's funny because my wife had this conversation with me, I think it was two days ago. She was like, 'Are you serious after this contract? Are you serious about retiring?'
And I was like, 'Yes, I feel very strongly about it,'" Holiday said on Andre Iguodala's Point Forward.
"And she was like, 'Well what are you going to do? You need to start thinking about that now.' And I thought about it, and I have no clue. I feel like there are so many things that I am interested in," Holiday went on to say.
"I'll always do the philanthropic work because it's never so much for me. To see you put money, and effort, and time into the youth and maybe the people that don't feel like they matter but they really do, there's something in that."
Holiday once took some time away from basketball to take care of his wife, Lauren Holiday, another professional athlete, when she was diagnosed with a type of brain tumor called meningioma.
The Olympic gold medalist didn't have a problem walking away from the sport at that time. He signed a 4-year, $134 million extension with the Bucks in 2022 and is set to make $34.9 million next season.
The 32-year-old, 14-year NBA veteran said he's still trying to win another championship.
'I'm still trying to perform, and I still need to get my sleep," he argued.
