"As part of the game and training controls by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), the Basketball Bundesliga basketball player Jason George (Chemnitz) had a conspicuous test result.
As a result, NADA initiated an investigation into a possible violation of the anti-doping regulations. Jason George was temporarily suspended from playing in the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga and was no longer present at the Niners' home game against the Hamburg Towers on Saturday evening.
All further steps will result from the NADA investigation procedure, until the end of which the presumption of innocence applies.
The 21-year-old Jason George moved to Chemnitz on loan from FC Bayern Munich in December and was originally supposed to play for the Niners until at least the end of the 2023-24 season.
Since his move, George has played a total of 30 competitive games for Chemnitz in the Bundesliga and in FIBA Europe Cup, scoring an average of 4.6 points.
Niners Chemnitz are clearly against any kind of doping and will check their steps in relation to the player Jason George depending on the further course of the NADA proceedings."
