"Hopefully, it's gonna be a sunny day so I can be in the swimming pool," Jokic told Mike Singer from the Denver Post.
Jokic led the Nuggets to a 97-87 win against the Phoenix Suns, giving Denver a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinal series.
The 28-year-old Serbian was also the main reason why the Nuggets clinched a no. 1 seed in the West. Jokic averaged 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game throughout 69 appearances.
Yet, the Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid seems like a favorite to claim his first MVP award.
Not that Jokic cares.
"I don't really think about it," Jokic said after the win against the Suns. "Like zero interest."
If Jokic wins a third-straight MVP award, he will become just the fourth man to do so, joining Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, andBill Russell.
"I mean, I cannot think about that, my friend," Jokic said when asked what it would mean to him if he were to join such an exclusive group. "Because I cannot control it."
