"Everything is fine beyond how strange everything was after the last game in Madrid," he said. "We received 50,000 ticket requests in the next 24 hours. I consider that everything that happened in the game [in Madrid] has to be forgotten five minutes after it ended, and it shouldn't be a problem."
"Finishing a game that way is horrible. It seemed like a quiet game until it happened," Savic continued. "The two guys who got involved are the calmest of the team, [Dante] Exum and [Kevin] Punter never raise their voices."
The day after the brawl in Game 2, both teams received a €50,000 fine from the EuroLeague.
Four players were sanctioned as well. Guerschon Yabuselereceived the biggest sanction of all four players - he was given a 5-game ban in the tournament.Kevin Punterreceived a 2-game penalty whileGabriel DeckandMathias Lessortwere each given a 1-game ban.
"Other types of sanctions should have been imposed. They have fined the clubs and not the players. The consequences were placed on Real Madrid and Partizan with the teams being the least to blame in all of this," Savic said about the EuroLeague's decision.
When Game 2 ended, numerous people expressed concerns about the possible safety of Real Madrid's players in Belgrade. Savic assured that
"Security is guaranteed for the Real Madrid players. We have the same preparation as when we played against Crvena Zvezda with 500 people working on it," he concluded.
