Some wondered that Partizan fans could make unnecessary actions against Real players following the massive brawl in Madrid, however, they showed nothing but class by supporting their team. Obradovic appreciated this behavior.
"I am very proud of the fans," he emphasized after BasketNews' question. "Some people started to make comments before the start of the game, tell many bad things, but nothing happened. We played basketball and I am very proud of that.
"Of course, I would be pleased if we continue that way. It's important to play basketball, to win a game, but it's more important to provide hospitality and show how are people here in Serbia. I am very proud of this."
Just after heated Game 2 finished, the winningest European coach sent a message to Partizan fans, wanting to make sure that the conflict doesn't evolve into something much worse.
"What I would like is for our fans to understand that this is part of the sport, the players talked among themselves, and that should be the end of it. In these two games, we encountered phenomenal hospitality from Real. Everyone here felt it, I believe all of you who are here have felt it as well," Obradovic told the media at that time.
"I think that we in Belgrade should reciprocate that, so that no player, member of the coaching staff, or Real fan feels uncomfortable. We should send the image from Belgrade as it has always been at our matches. I will repeat it until the game, and I want us to talk only about the game before the game," he concluded.
Thanks to a clutch Nigel Williams-Goss triple, Real avoided the sweep and reduced their series deficit to 1-2. Game 4 is scheduled for Thursday at 20:30 CEST.
