In the third quarter of that game, he went up to contest a shot byCameron Johnson and landed in an awkward tangle of limbs alongside the Nets forward. Embiid got up slowly and was flexing his knee in the immediate aftermath but played the remainder of the game.
Embiid was announced as the latest NBA MVP on Tuesday night after averaging 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game over 66 regular season appearances.
The 76ers lead the series against the Celtics 1-0. Game 2 is scheduled on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET in Boston.
