"With my spies telling me that Utah, in particular, is keeping a very interested eye on Doncic's situation, even the Nets' kitchen-sink offer for Doncic – the four firsts from Phoenix and one from Philly, plus whatever matching salary not named Bridges is needed to make the deal work – likely falls massively short," says the mentioned report.
In April, Tim MacMahon from ESPN reported the Mavericks fear that the 24-year-old Doncic could request a trade in the summer of 2024 if Dallas doesn't progress by then.
"He'd like to be here the whole time, but we've got to earn that," Mavs owner Mark Cuban has said.
However, Doncic himself shut down any talks regarding the trade request a couple of days after MacMahon's report.
"I saw the report. I don't know who, but somebody said I was going to request a trade. It was funny because I didn't know that was true. I didn't say it," Doncic told the media.
"I know what you're saying, but I'm happy here, so there's nothing to worry [about]," Doncic added.
In the 2022-23 season, Doncic averaged 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game over 66 appearances.
