"I'm sad because Gabi Deck suffered an injury today. I don't know what will happen, but it seems it's not a long-term injury," Mateo said in a post-game press conference.
With 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Zach LeDay dived on the floor in an attempt to steal the ball but accidentally fell on Deck's leg, who immediately grabbed his left knee.
Moments later, Deck went straight to the locker room with the help of Real Madrid's medical staff.
After the game, Deck left the Stark Arena on crutches.
Deck was Real's top scorer before leaving the court. He finished the game with 14 points (5/7 2PT, 1/2 3PT, 1/1 FT), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 drawn fouls, and 16 PIR in 33 minutes of playing time.
Deck returned from a 1-game suspension that was given for involvement in a brawl during Game 2.
Despite Deck's injury, Real achieved an 85-78 victory and forced Game 5 in Madrid. Deck's status for Game 5 remains unknown.
Game 5 is scheduled on Wednesday at 21:00 CET in Madrid.
