According to reports by Zurnal.rs and Mozzart Sport, Partizan failed to register their players for licensing on time, resulting in them being barred from participating in the fight for the championship title in Serbia.
The clubs were reportedly notified by the Basketball League of Serbia (KLS) that the deadline for player licensing was April 24.
The black-and-white team submitted their registration on April 29, which was deemed too late.
Crvena Zvezda won the last seven Serbian league titles. The last time Partizan finished first was in the 2013-14 season.
Serbian teams, which also play in the Adriatic League, join the local championship in the playoff phase.
