While Game 3 against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul was already underway in Istanbul, Olympiacos Piraeus and especially Sasha Vezenkov were being discussed for completely different reasons in the United States.

Sacramento Kings GM Monty McNair gave a press conference to mark the Bulgarian forward as the NBA's top player for 2023 and one of the questions he received was about the 28-year-old.

His response was full of praise for the player and for the Piraeus team as a whole, but diplomatic as to Vezenkov's move to Sacramento.

"Right now we are enjoying watching him and his team. They have a fantastic year, Olympiacos is a fantastic club. We have been able to know him a little bit and we will sit down, and see what our off-season looks like in the next few weeks and that will be a decision for later this summer," McNair told reporters.

So far, all the Kings' men, including executives and assistant coaches, have come to Greece to watch Vezenkov in action. Now, it's Mike Brown's turn to see him up close.

The Sacramento Kings coach will be at the Peace and Friendship Stadium on Tuesday night to watch the fifth playoff game between Olympiacos and Fenerbahce. Since the King's NBA season came to an end following their elimination by the Warriors, the issue of signing the 28-year-old forward has come to the fore, although as Monty McNair pointed out, the final decision will come much later.

Until then, the Kings will discuss with the player and his agent, but first of all, Brown, who this year won the NBA's Coach of The Year award, must speak his mind.

That's why he will come to Athens to watch Vezenkov in action. Then, along with the front office, the coach will decide whether to make a move for him in July, when the free agency opens.
