After parting ways with head coach Nick Nurse, the Toronto Raptors are in search of a new general to lead their squad. The newest candidate for the job might turn some heads.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, former NBA player and current ESPN analyst JJ Redick was interviewed for the vacancy. He's one of many people to meet with the franchise in the first round of the search.

Redick ended his 15-year NBA career in 2021 and began hosting the Old Man and the Three podcast on YouTube. Later on, he got invited to work at ESPN as an analyst.

The 38-year-old has no prior coaching experience. A role in the Raptors organization would be his first coaching stint after retiring.

The Raptors are known for interviewing a wide range of possible candidates when searching for a new head coach. For example, they held an interview with then-Zalgiris Kaunas head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius back in 2018.

With Nick Nurse under the helm, the team finished the season 9th in the East and got kicked out in the play-in tournament by the Chicago Bulls.
