The 27-year-old guard took to Twitter to describe his feelings after his team's elimination. Baldwin bid farewell to the EuroLeague season, but vouched to lead Maccabi to the Final Four in the near future.
"I gave everything I had. This EuroLeague season and series was the most fun I've had in my career," he wrote.
"Congrats to Monaco for a competitive series and advancing. Extremely proud to wear the Maccabi brand on my chest. I will deliver a Final Four in a Maccabi uniform."
Three weeks ago,Maccabi officialized atwo-year contract extension with the player.
"It's been a very easy choice that I’ll be spending the next two seasons here with Maccabi," said the former Vanderbilt standout, "It's been a great journey this year, we've had tremendous success. I want to continue that and grow."
Baldwin joined the team last June for his fourth campaign in the EuroLeague. Averaging 16.7 points, 5.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 0.9 steals per contest pushed Maccabi into the best-of-five series opposite AS Monaco for a ticket to the Kaunas Final Four.
A four-time winner of weekly MVP nods, Baldwin recently grew into MVP of the Month status as the player standing out in March. Prior to moving his talents to Europe in 2019, he played in 63 NBA games split between the Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies.
Apart from retaining Baldwin, Maccabi confirmed extensions for Lorenzo Brown and Roman Sorkin, while they're reportedly nearing a similar agreement with Bonzie Colson. Brian Angola and Tamir Blatt are also slated to be the club's first additions ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
