The news aboutFacundo Campazzo joiningReal Madrid was first released by Relevo with the note that the player has agreed to all the terms of his return.

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade immediately came forward and refuted the report that Campazzo met with Madrid's reps on March 17 in Barcelona. However, both Marca and El Mundo Deportivo confirm that the 31-year-old is very close to a second term at the Royal Club.

Mundo even boldly points out that Campazzo did indeed meet with Real Madrid's reps, without his current club or even his agents at the time knowing anything about it.

In the meantime, he changed representatives. He parted ways with Octagon Basketball and chose Quique Villalobos, a former Real Madrid player, to take care of his career.

And, this summer, Campazzo really has an important decision to make, as his contract with Zvezda lasts until 2024, but includes an exit clause worth only 50,000 euros that any suitor could pay.

Per the same report, Facu will earn €1.8 million for the 2022-23 season, while his salary would be €2.5 million for the 2023-24 season.

In terms of the teams interested in the Argentinian guard, El Mundo Deportivo's Jose Ignacio Huguet mentionsCrvena Zvezda, who would prefer to extend the Argentinian's stay in Belgrade, AS Monaco, Anadolu Efes, and Panathinaikos, who supposedly offers the best conditions. Per the same report, Zvezda proposed a three-year contract with a net salary of 3,000,000 euros per season, something that doesn't seem realistic.

Before signing with Red Star, Campazzo owed Real Madrid €2.6 million of the €6 million release clause that the Argentinian agreed to pay for leaving the club for the NBA. Eurohoops' Aris Barkas reported that a significant amount of that sum would be covered by the contract signed with the Serbian team.

Marca's report, on the other hand, does not go into details, but states a surprising fact -- One EuroLeague club is offering Campazzo as much as 12,000,000 euros net for a three-year contract, i.e. 4,000,000 per season. That would put him in second place among the highest-paid players in the EuroLeague, right behind Barca's Nikola Mirotic.

According to both Spanish outlets, Real Madrid have prepared a three-year contract for 3,000,000 euros gross per season. It seems that Real Madrid are eager to forget about Campazzo's debt to the club which corresponds to the loan he took out when he left for the NBA in 2020.

Considering that he would again have to pay tax on that amount (around 40%), Marca claims that the final amount would be a little more than 1,000,000 per season.

Maybe that's why Mundo points out that Campazzo hasn't signed anything yet and that he's allegedly waiting for Real Madrid to increase their offer. What can't be argued is that the international guard wants to return to Madrid, also for family reasons.

In fact, Marca claims that his former teammates have been sending him messages all season, expressing their wish to have him back.
