Scariolo worked for the Raptors between 2018 and 2021 as the no. 1 assistant for the former head coach Nick Nurse.
Earlier, Jose Ignacio Huguet from Mundo Deportivo reported that Scariolo met with Real Madrid representatives on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Virtus Segafredo Bologna CEO Luca Baraldi told Sportal that Scariolo will remain with the team for next season.
"This year, we had some very positive moments, such as the victories in Madrid against Real and in Barcelona, then certainly we lost some games we could have won, but we are still very satisfied," Baraldi said. "We hope to stay in the Euroleague next year. The market for some players is related to that, but we are working as if we are already sure of our place. As for Scariolo, he has the contract, so he is definitely confirmed as our coach."
In June 2021, Scariolo signed a 3-year deal with Virtus.
