The Bosnian forward is now set to participate in his first-ever Final Four that will be held in Kaunas from May 19 to 21. Real Madrid will face FC Barcelona in the EuroLeague Final Four's second semi-final game.
After an incredible turnaround of historic proportions, Real Madrid stopped Partizan on the way to the final stage. The Serbian side had an 18-point lead in Game 5 in Madrid, but the Royal Club once again proved that one should never write them off.
Few believed that after two defeats at home, the Spanish powerhouse could reach the Final Four, and Dzanan Musa was part of the overwhelming majority.
"We didn't expect it either," he admitted.
"When we came to Belgrade, we said that we would do our best, play as if it were the last game in our lives -- and it came back to us. We didn't change much, except for the defensive line. Partizan didn't manage to react to it in the two games in Belgrade, but they punished everything in Game 5," the Bosnian international told Mozzart Sport.
"They did their best, we did our best and this was a huge fight. Partizan is a giant in European basketball and we hope to see them again," said Musa.
The former Spanish league MVP maintains that Partizan can only be satisfied with what they did this season in the elite competition, although he admits that didn't expect them to put on such a big fight.
"Partizan are unbelievable. They should be proud of the season. We didn't hope it would be this hard either, we thought it would be easier to advance," he pointed out.
"In the end, it was 50-50. Congratulations on a great season."
Musa called Rudy Fernandez one of Real Madrid's best players in Game 5. "He didn't score a point, but he was everywhere. He's our mentor and leader," the 24-year-old argued.
