Vidorreta on loss to Hapoel: 'If we played that game 10 times, we would only lose once' / News - Basketnews.com
Txus Vidorreta explained how Tenerife missed the chance to claim their third BCL title.
Credit: FIBA Credit FIBALenovo Tenerife coach Txus Vidorreta lamented Bruno Fitipaldo's missed 3-point shot that led to his team's defeat against Hapoel Jerusalem in the semifinals of the FIBA Champions League (68-69).

The Spanish coach said his team would only lose once out of ten times in a game that would end like that.
"Jerusalem defended it a little better compared to our previous possession. We had good open shooters, we would have preferred to finish with a two-point shot, but we had to look for an outside shot to win," Vidorreta said.
Despite how definitive that action was, the Basque coach does not believe that this was the key that deprived Tenerife of another BCL final.
"The missed free throw by Giorgi Shermadini [with the game tied at 67 apiece] and the three plus one conceded by [Aaron] Doornekamp were also key, even though my player says it wasn't a foul and I still have to see the replay," he continued.
"We played very well the first 15 minutes, offensively, and three minutes from the end we did everything to win, but our percentages from three were the worst of our season," he argued.
Vidorreta did not forget to congratulate his rival, Hapoel Jerusalem, and his colleague, Serbian Aleksandar Dzikic, who lost his mother this week:
"Congratulations to him, a man and a great coach, and to his team, who did a great game".
