After the season ended, Morant was seen on one of his friends' Instagram Live. The man was showing himself and Morant in the car. At first, the two are seen showing the sign of a gun with their hands. Moments later, Morant can be seen flashing what looks like a gun.
It is currently unknown when or where the video was taken.
Earlier in the season, Morant got into trouble in early March after he hosted an Instagram live from a nightclub where he showed a gun to thousands of spectators. The team suspended the player.
While he was away from the team facility, a photo was leaked from the nightclubthat shows Morant with dancers and almost every inch of surface covered in cash.
Several days after the incident, he announced thathe'd be taking time away from basketballto tackle his inner issues. The NBA suspended him for 8 games.
Two main stories from Morant's offseason have been in the public discourse recently. First, a story came out that hepunched a teenager during a basketball gamein his home in Tennessee. After the incident, he allegedly re-emerged from the house with a gun visible in the waistband of his pants and his hand on the weapon.
During the summer, Morant also got involved in averbal altercation with Memphis policein one of the city's malls when he and his friends refused the security guard’s demands to leave the mall parking lot.
The Washington Post's Gus Garcia-Roberts and Molly Hensley-Clancy claim that interviews and internal records show that the Memphis Grizzlies and the NBA were both responsible for sweeping the possibly huge news under the rug.
