There were some speculations during the season that the Israeli specialist might be replaced but the team's performance has convinced the management to stay put in the head coaching spot.
"I thank the owner and the system for expressing their trust in me," Kattash said following the news. "Very happy to continue the special path we started together. I'll do everything so that together we achieve the goals of the club."
Maccabi finished the regular season in 5th place in the standings with a record of 20 wins and 14 losses. The Israeli team was the most dominant at home, recording 15 wins in 17 games, a result that was the best in the entire competition.
Kattash signed a two-year deal with Maccabi last summer. The club has announced extensions with Wade Baldwin IV, Lorenzo Brown, and Roman Sorkin during the season. Brown was recently selected into the All-EuroLeague First Team, while Baldwin was picked to be in the Second Team.
