Morant released a statement through his representatives, his first public comment since the video was posted over the weekend.
"I know I've disappointed a lot of people who have supported me," Morant said in the statement. "This is a journey, and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I'm committed to continuing to work on myself."
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver revealed he was shocked after seeing the second Morant video.
"Honestly, I was shocked when I saw this weekend that video," Silver told ESPN's Malika Andrews from the NBA's draft lottery Tuesday in Chicago. "Now, we're in the process of investigating it, and we'll figure out exactly what happened to the best we can. The video is a bit grainy and all that, but I'm assuming the worst."
The Instagram Live video that emerged over the weekend came from the account of Morant's best friend, Davonte Pack, who has been involved in several of Morant's off-court incidents that merited investigation from the league office.
Pack was banned from attending Grizzlies home games for a year following an investigation into a postgame confrontation with the Indiana Pacers' traveling party on Jan. 29, when a red laser was alleged to have been pointed out of an SUV where Morant was traveling.
Earlier in the season, Morant got into trouble in early March after he hosted an Instagram live from a nightclub where heshowed a gun to thousands of spectators. The teamsuspended the player.
While he was away from the team facility,a photo was leaked from the nightclubthat shows Morant with dancers and almost every inch of surface covered in cash.
Several days after the incident, he announced thathe'd be taking time away from basketball to tackle his inner issues. The NBA suspended him for 8 games.
Earlier, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Morant is facing a much longer suspension this time.
