Matthew Costello slams ACB schedule: 'It's stupid to sit for 10 days' / News - Basketnews.com
Costello was highly critical of the fact that teams have to wait 10 days to play the last round and only three are then remaining until the playoffs, calling it very stupid. He wasn't sure if he was going to play for Ivory Coast in the upcoming World Cup since there is not clarity within the team itself.

Now, their focus is concentrated entirely on the domestic league.
"It's almost been a month since EuroLeague has been finished for us. We've had some time to recoup our bodies and our minds," Matthew Costello told the media after practice on Wednesday.
"It's not like Madrid and Barca who've been playing 2-3 times a week all the way through, we've had more time to recover," he continued. "I think we're in a little bit of a better position physically and mentally than we were maybe a month ago at the end of the EuroLeague season."
However, Baskonia will have to wait quite a bit to play their last game in the ACB. There is a 10-day gap between their last match and the next one against Basquet Girona on May 24th.
When the regular season ends, there will be only a few days until the playoffs start. Costello was highly critical of such a decision by the league.
"It makes me so mad. I understand that with the EuroLeague and everything... I wish the ACB would figure something out because this is very stupid to be sitting here for 10 days at the end of the season. It's just terrible scheduling, it needs to be fixed," he said.
After the season ends, Costello has a chance to play in the 2023 FIBA World Cup for Ivory Coast. Even though he has the country's passport, Costello wasn't entirely sure whether he was going to go to Indonesia.
"I was actually talking to one of the Ivory Coast guys the other day about it, trying to figure out the situation because it's up in the air with who's going, who's leading the team, nobody really knows. We're just kind of sitting and waiting. If it happens, that would be cool. If not, I'll spend more time with my family, so it's a win-win either way," he concluded.
