The highly anticipated European basketball event will commence at 17:00 CEST on Friday, featuring a matchup between regular-season winners Olympiacos Piraeus and AS Monaco, a repeat of last year's playoff series.
Ahead of the first semifinal, Shaquielle McKissic, the high-flying wing from Olympiacos, has added some extra excitement by issuing a challenge to his opponents.
"Beat us if you can," he told NOVA on how Olympiacos should face Monaco stars. "We believe we have the best team. We don't need to say anything else. Come and beat us."
Last season, McKissic and company were defeated by Vasilije Micic's buzzer-beater.
"We have the same mentality," he said on what has changed compared to last year. "I hope that this year we will have the cards in our hands. This is our goal."
When asked about handling the noise surrounding the event, McKissic revealed that he doesn't dwell on what others are saying. While acknowledging that many people have opinions, he personally avoids social media and focuses on his own performance.
"I don't think so much about what others are doing or saying. I know many have a lot to say. I have shut down my social media. But we will have to see what happens in the end, who will take the cup," he said.
"I often get upset with what people say. I want to stay calm. After Game 5 against Fenerbahce, I opened social media a bit, read good things, and closed it down again."
