Foster received brief medical attention for the cut around his mouth.

When James approached Foster to apologize, the longtime NBA official surprised him with a humorous remark, saying, "You've been wanting to do that for 25 years."

In a playful manner, Lakers forward Austin Reaves suggested that James should receive a technical foul.

Despite the incident, Foster continued to officiate the game.

Meanwhile, the Lakers ended up losing the game 119-108, putting them at a 3-0 deficit in the Western Conference Finals against Denver.

This defeat marked their first loss on their home court in the playoffs.

Game 4 is scheduled for Monday at Crypto.com Arena.
