The French side is already in the progress of securing one of the biggest talents of the French league as they're expected to add French-Algerian point guard Nadir Hifi, multiple sources have told BasketNews.
Hifi, currently with Le Portel, averages 17.0 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game this season. At the end of March, in a game against Paris Basketball, Hifi exploded for 39 points.
The 20-year-old player has already reached an agreement with Paris Basketball, and the deal is considered to be done, a source told BasketNews. Le Portel is also expected to receive a buyout in the negotiation, another source told BasketNews.
In its first season at the EuroCup level, Paris Basketball reached the quarter-finals of the competition, where they lost against Gran Canaria, which eventually became the EuroCup champions.
The French club is considered one of the main candidates for a EuroLeague multi-year license in the coming years.
Hifi grew up inside the youth system of SIG Strasbourg before joining Le Portel in the 2020-2021 season.
Paris Basketball is expected to hire Tuomas Iisalo as their new head coach for the next season. Iisalo led Telekom Baskets Bonn to the Basketball Champions League title and will replace Will Weaver, who will leave the French side after one season as head coach.
BeBasket first reported about Paris Basketball's interest in Hifi.
