"I was happy to return to the EuroLeague last summer, but playing in Kaunas was an even better experience than before," Hayes told Zalgiris.lt. "We are having a good season, we want to finish it by becoming Lithuanian champions next year, we will try to do even better. I believe that Zalgiris is the best place for me right now."

The 206 cm tall center joined Zalgiris from Bursa Frutti Extra last summer.

Hayes, known for his powerful dunks and effective blocks, quickly became the fans' favorite and has consistently been a part of top plays.

Hayes has already lifted the King Mindaugas Cup with Zalgiris this year.

In the EuroLeague season, the American stepped on the court in all Zalgiris games, averaging almost 18 minutes, scoring 5.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 0.9 blocked shots per game.

"Consistency and continuity are very important in team sports, and we believed in Kevarrius and wanted to continue to have him on our team," said Zalgiris Deputy Director Paulius Jankunas. "We would like to see more stability from him in the upcoming season, but there are no doubts about his skills."

Hayes recorded similar numbers in the Betsafe-LKL championship – 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 9.5 EFF in almost 16 minutes on the court.

Recently, Zalgiris also announced an extension with the Latvian forward Rolands Smits.
