According to Jose Ignacio Huguet from Mundo Deportivo, the Lithuanian tactician wants to continue coaching in Barca and would even agree to a substantial pay cut to remain on the team.

Saras has conveyed a message that he would agree to a deal that is worth only a fracture of his previous salary.

Jasikevicius currently earns around €3.5 million gross in salary, which amounts to around €2 million net after taxes.

"I don't know when the career [in Barca] is going to be over, especially for the players, because mine only starts as a coach, right?" Saras said after a win against Valencia Basket in the Liga Endesa quarterfinals on Monday. "You have the numbers that we haven't won that many leagues, that many cups, or that many Euroleagues. In some cases, you can only win one this year. I don't care if I have a contract or not, I want to win this league, really."

With financial troubles slowly hitting the organization, the club'sbudget might be cut by up to 25%. If the cut is implemented, the team's budget would come back to the level of the 2019-20 season of around €30 million.

The team's losses have been significant as well. The basketball organization has been losing money ever since 2006, with the losses reaching €34.6 million in 2021.

Throughout the 13 years, Barca have spent more than €300 million on player salaries since they last won the EuroLeague title in 2010,Julian Felipo from Mundo Deportivo notes. If this season's budget is accounted for, the number adds up to €337.6 million.

At the same time, reports about a possible ultimatumtoNikola Mirotichave surfaced as well. A recent report came out that Mirotic's departure is a real possibility.
