The Miami Heat didn't start the NBA Finals series against the Denver Nuggets the way they wanted.

In a 93-104 loss in Denver in Game 1, the Heat attempted only 2 free throws. It's the fewest number of free throws attempted in a playoff game in NBA history.

Haywood Highsmith was the only Heat player who attempted free throws, making both of them.

In comparison, the Nuggets took 20 free throws, converting 16 of them.

Nikola Jokic stole the show in Game 1, as he joined Jason Kidd as the only players to record a triple-double in their NBA Finals debut.

Jokic finished the game with 27 points (7/10 2PT, 1/2 3PT, 10/12 FT), 10 rebounds, 14 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, and 2 turnovers.

Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. in Denver.
