After eliminating ALBA Berlin in the quarterfinal round, ratiopharm kicked out Bayern in the semifinals. Talking with Magenta Sport television after the game, Trinchieri announced his departure from the club.

"I think that was the last game of my tenure at Bayern," he said after losing the series 0-3.

With Trinchieri's departure, Pablo Laso is set to replace him at the Bavarian club.

In his three seasons with Bayern, Trinchieri led the team to two German Cup titles but didn't manage to win a single BBL trophy.

With 11 wins and 23 losses, Bayern finished the season in the EuroLeague in 15th place. Bayern made the playoffs as the 8th seed the season before but were eliminated in the quarterfinals by FC Barcelona in a tight 5-game series.
