Adrian Griffin has been the new coach of theMilwaukee Bucks for a few days, even though there has been no announcement so far. He's a rookie coach, so Milwaukee wanted to show him that they believe in him, but also protect him in his maiden head-coaching venture.

Per The Athletic, the Bucks have agreed to offer him a multi-year contract with an annual salary of $4 million. At the same time, the search for his assistants has begun, with two names already released.

The first name is Terry Stotts, who sat on the Blazers ' bench from 2012 to 2021, in one of the best periods in team history. The second name is that of James Borrego, who sat on the Hornets ' bench from 2018 to 2022.

With Griffin having worked as an assistant alongside defensive-minded coaches (like Scott Skiles, Tim Thibodeau, and Billy Donovan), the Bucks are looking for coaches who have shown they can set a team up and also improve players.

Both Stotts and Borrego have shown that. With Stotts, the Blazers had from 2018 through 2021 one of the three best offensive productions in the league, based on offensive rating (points scored per 100 possessions). Stotts was always able to take the best out of his role players on offense, while helping bench warmers improve.

At the same time, Borrego in his last season at Charlotte (2021-22) managed to lift his team to 9th place in the offensive rating sector, building a squad around the strengths of LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward.
