Credit: EuroLeague Credit EuroLeagueThe EuroLeague CEO Marshall Glickman has stepped down from his position after just a season in his position, the EuroLeague has announced.
The EuroLeague will now have to search for a new CEO for the second time in two years after the former main executive of the league Jordi Bertomeu was dismissed last season.
The league will discuss the possibility of including Glickman in an advisory role in two weeks, the organization also noted.
It was previously reported that Glickman's relationship with the current president of the EuroLeague - Dejan Bodiroga - has deteriorated throughout the year, likely being one of the contributing factors in making the decision.
Under Glickman's leadership, the EuroLeague secured an ESPN broadcasting deal. The US media giant streamed the last week of the 2022-23 EuroLeague Playoffs and the entire Final Four in Kaunas. The agreement also included broadcasting rights for the upcoming 2023-24 EuroLeague season as well.
Before becoming the CEO, Glickman had previously served as Bertomeu's special advisor from 2002 until 2004. Glickman is also the CEO of G2 Strategic, a sports business consulting firm with clients in the US and Europe.
