After the match, Fenerbahce published a statement on the official website regarding the officiating.
"The result of this match was determined neither by the tactics of the coaches nor by the efforts of the teams on the court. This match was presented to our opponent Efes by the 3 referees appointed by the Turkish Basketball Federation," the announcement reads.
"While Anadolu Efes was allowed to shoot 32 free throws throughout the match, this number remained only 12 for our team. Moreover, critical fouls called or not called against our team at decisive moments of the match determined the winner," Fenerbahce argued.
The Turkish club pointed out that the federation should lay down the reasons for the referees' attitude in the game.
"With the material and moral investments the club has made in almost every branch of Turkish sports, its unmatched sacrifice and indescribable effort, it's time to stop the blatant injustice against Fenerbahce, which is one of the clubs that sustains its brand value."
The release concludes with a warning.
"If you aren't able to properly manage the games to be played and the efforts made, and decide the results with your referees, our attitude and response as Fenerbahce Sports Club will be in the harshest way."
