The EuroLeague MVP left the OAKA Arena before the end of the derby to have an MRI and determine the extent of the injury.
A few hours later, the medical tests revealed Vezenkov avoided a severe injury.
In the limited time he played, Vezenkov managed to score six points and secure four rebounds in nearly 21 minutes of action in Game 2. The 27-year-old contributed with a game-high 20 points and seven boards in a Game 1 victory.
The injury to Vezenkov compounded the challenges faced by Olympiacos, as they were already dealing with a reduced roster. Prior to Vezenkov's departure, Thomas Walkup had been ejected from the game after receiving unsportsmanlike and technical fouls. This left the team with only 10 players to compete.
Adding to the adversity, Kostas Sloukas was unable to participate in the game due to a stomach flu.
Olympiacos ended up losing Game 2 on the road by a two-point margin (65-67). The best-of-five series is now tied at 1-1.
Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at the Piece and Friendship Stadium.
