Then, Partizan answered with similar rhetoric. Nevertheless, the issues have finally been solved.
After initially refusing to agree with the change of the dates of the finals, Partizan released a statement in which the club tells its fans that the date of the first game of the series has been moved, essentially ending the disagreement with the league.
However, the organization asked to change the date of the possible Game 5 from June 23rd to June 22nd in return, which the league agreed to do.
The chaos started when the Serbian Basketball League (KLS) announced the date of the finals. With Partizan dropping out of the competition due to an administrative error, only Crvena Zvezda remains in the tournament out of the two EuroLeague clubs.
Several days later, the ABA League announced the dates of their own final series which coincided with the ones the KLS shared, essentially forcing Crvena Zvezda to play either a game each day or even start both series on the same day.
Crvena Zvezda protested, releasing a statement about a possible forfeit of the ABA League. On Thursday, June 8th, ABA League released a new schedule and asked both clubs for their approval.
After receiving approval only from Crvena Zvezda, the league used Article 11 of its Bylaws to uphold the decision despite Partizan disagreeing with the change. The latest statement from Partizan puts the drama to rest.
Earlier in the week, it was revealed that three high-level referees have opted out of working in the ABA League finals.
