Butler scored the last 13 Heat points and gave Miami an 89-88 lead with 2:47 left in Game 5. However, the Nuggets went on to finish the game on a 6-0 run, clinching their first NBA title.
After being asked what's his biggest takeaway, Butler named the whole Miami Heat team.
"Probably how grateful I am for being able to compete with these guys," Butler said. "You never know what the team's going to look like next year or the year after that. I'm just grateful."
"I learned so much, they taught me so much. I wish I could have done it for these guys because they definitely deserve it. The one thing that I'm going to take from it is how great I am for being able to compete with them," Butler added.
Butler finished Game 5 with 21 points (3/13 2PT, 2/5 3PT, 9/11 FT), 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 turnover.
He averaged 21.6 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds during the NBA Finals series.
