Barkley predicted the Oklahoma City Thunder to beat the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semifinals in the playoffs. After Game 5, which Dallas won, Barkley's colleague Ernie Johnson made a remark about him jinxing the teams he'd picked.
"Well, you're not gonna have to worry about it for much longer," Barkley replied, implying the Inside the NBA crew won't be around due to TNT losing the NBA broadcasting rights.
As Barkley was laughing, Draymond Green, who joined the group, was smiling, while Shaquille O'Neal and Kenny Smith were both sitting with uncomfortable smiles. "We're going to be here forever," Smith later remarked.
"Stick to the script!" Johnson said as the show went into commercial break.
