When the franchise signed two prominent guards - Jordan Loyd and Elie Okobo - to play alongside superstar Mike James, several eyebrows were raised.
The initial thought was that too many ballhandlers were on the roster, and they would not manage to share the ball properly amongst themselves and their teammates. Some jokingly suggested that more than one ball would be needed on the court to please all three players. Nevertheless, Monaco came in third in the EuroLeague and convincingly won the LNB.
The next day after winning the French championship, Jordan Loyd posted a picture of all three stars guards with the caption "Only 1 ball was needed', indirectly roasting the basketball media for their takes before the season.
It's now Loyd's fourth domestic league title in the last five seasons. He won the NBA title in 2019, the ABA League in 2021, the VTB League in 2022, and the LNB in 2023.
