"I can freely say 'Mission complete' because we achieved everything, even surpassing the goals we had set for the season," he underlined in an interview with Nikola Stojkovic of Mozzart Sport. "Personally, I have fulfilled my ambitions and expectations at the highest level. I understand that sports can sometimes be unjust, but it is also a profession.
"I respect the opinions of those who think differently. Regardless of whether you become a champion or not -- I haven't always been a champion -- you must know that you have given your best. You should be able to look at yourself in the mirror and say that you did your utmost. I can honestly say that, not only in this case, but also in others. That's why I remain extremely calm in anticipation of what lies ahead."
Regarding his future, Obradovic revealed, "To be honest, I haven't spoken with the president yet, although there have been assurances that there won't be any changes. I would like to hear it directly from the main man, whether everything was as it should be or not, whether he believes in my work and the potential for further achievements.
"It doesn't matter if there is a contract or not; it's about having someone who believes in your abilities and future prospects," the 54-year-old emphasized. "Such matters need to be discussed, and I am open to accepting any decision. I remain calm, we have put ourselves on the world basketball map. That's why I have reason to expect that good things will continue happening for me, just as they did this year."
When prompted about his desire to continue coaching Monaco, Obradovic responded with the following thoughts:
"In the next few days, an important thing needs to happen: good communication," he said. "I need to know where I stand, and how the club envisions my role. It's crucial to have mutual respect in order to start the new season on a healthy basis. If there is doubt about the possibility of repeating our success -- which, in my opinion, is quite challenging -- it should be acknowledged. Similarly, if there is belief in taking one more step forward, and we all know what that means, it should be publicly declared as a goal and consistently pursued."
Obradovic has a commitment to coach AS Monaco until the end of the 2024-25 season.
The Serbian specialist previously coached Monaco in the 2019-20 season before returning in December 2021 as a replacement for Zvezdan Mitrovic.
