In return, the Wizards will get Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, several second-round picks, and multiple pick swaps, Shams Charania from The Athletic notes.
The deal will take some time to fully complete as Washington will be allowed to field offers from other teams that would allow Chris Paul to play for a contender, Wojnarowski adds. The Los Angeles Clippers are ready to pursue the veteran point guard, Chris Haynes from Bleacher Report writes.
Beal signed a five-year, $251 million deal last summer. Beal's contract also features a 15% trade kicker, which will be paid to the player besides the regular salary, in addition to the rare no-trade clause which gave Beal's team an exclusive right to choose the next destination.
Beal averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game on a career-best 50.4% shooting last season.
The star guard will now form a formidable big three alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
