Born in Pontevedra in 1982, Luis Arbalejo comes from working as a Scout Consultant for the NBA franchise Utah Jazz, in addition to being sports director of Lucentum Alicante, with responsibility for both its first team and the entity's training categories and accumulating a long career in national basketball.
Graduated in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and Senior Basketball Coach, he began working in offices in 2007 as technical director of CD Alcázar de Menorca.
His next step was in Zaragoza, joining the CAI at that time to perform the duties of youth academy manager.
At the time between 2012 and 2018, Aday Mara joined the quarry, Arbalejo being key to his arrival. Also, at that time, he had an important role in incorporating and developing talents such as Carlos Alocén, Vit Krejci, Sergi García, Lucas Langarita, and Jaime Pradilla.
After passing through Zaragoza, Baloncesto Torrelodones opted for him as sports director, even reaching the position of general director of the entity in 2020 before joining Lucentum Alicante last year.
These tasks alternated with his role as Scout Consultant for the Utah Jazz, participating in different operations, such as Simone Fontecchio's landing in the NBA last summer.
Arbalejo replaces Chechu Mulero, who served as sports director in the last nine seasons and an assistant coach in the previous ten years.
