"The Phoenix Suns aggressively went after Bradley Beal," Charania said. "From James Jones to Frank Vogel, their new head coach, to Mat Ishbia, even Kevin Durant and Devin Booker recruited Bradley Beal. There were other teams that made bids, made offers, and Washington had better offers on the table."
During the 2022-23 season, Beal showcased his scoring prowess by averaging 23.2 points per game on an impressive shooting percentage of 50.6%, including 36.5% from beyond the arc. However, his playing time was limited to 50 games due to a series of hamstring injuries.
Beal's acquisition holds tremendous significance for the Suns as it adds another elite scorer to their roster, complementing the talents of Durant and Booker.
To acquire Beal, Phoenix agreed to send Chris Paul and Landry Shamet, along with multiple second-round picks and pick swaps to Washington.
